Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Louisiana seeks a Pharmacy Intern to accurately compound IV admixtures and other extemporaneous preparations using aseptic technique; maintains stock in the IV room and central pharmacy; fills medication orders and enters ADR data.

Candidate must be enrolled in good standing in an accredited College of Pharmacy or be a graduate who passed NABP FPGEE; hold a current Pharmacy Intern Permit; proficient with Windows and data entry; willing to travel between facilities.

• Work Experience Required: Experience working with standard Pharmacy and office equipment
• Certifications Required: Current Pharmacy Intern Permit from the State Board of Pharmacy, permitted to practice as a pharmacy intern by the Board of Pharmacy in the state of practice

This job accurately compounds IV Admixtures and other assigned preparations utilizing aseptic technique and proper pharmaceutical procedures; maintains stock in all assigned areas including the IV room, Central Pharmacy, compounded items and bottles and vials; accurately fills medication orders; and accurately enters ADR data into computer. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
