Astrya Global Medical Staffing is hiring a PHARM for a travel assignment in Alturas, California. This 8-week assignment offers a 8-week duration with potential extension and pay rates between $68 and $74 per hour.

Location: Alturas, CA. Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM, 40 scheduled hours per week. Start date 09/14/2026 and end date 11/09/2026. Weekly pay and comprehensive benefits provided by Astrya Global.

Responsibilities

• Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications for patient care.
• Reviews prescriptions issued by Physician or other authorized prescriber to ensure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
• Directs pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals.
• Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals if counseling is offered.
• Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
• Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.
• Instructs interns and other pharmacy personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy and maintains correct pharmacist to technician and pharmacist to intern ratios per state/federal law.
• Maintains awareness of third party Rx systems and resolves third party rejection problems promptly.
• Reports prescription errors immediately and adheres to company policy regarding medication incidents.
• Maintains awareness of loss prevention controls and procedures to identify and minimize profit loss.
• Develops and maintains a good working relationship with physicians and other health care professionals.
• Pursues training and development opportunities; keeps abreast of new items, changing laws, regulations, and new pharmacy-related programs through continuing education and reviewing pharmacy-related literature.
• Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; maintains confidentiality.
• Maximizes sales and controls expenses in the retail pharmacy
• Ensures currency and consistency of pharmacy policies.
• Communicates changes effectively and deals with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
• Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; ensures daily housekeeping, cleanliness, and sanitation program as established within company guidelines
• Demonstrates professional behavior and maintains a positive working relationship with patients, visitors, and staff
• Performs all assigned tasks accurately and produces deliverable products on time with minimal direction
• Other duties may be assigned, which may include technician-related duties depending on available staff
