Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Pharmacy Purchasing professional to oversee purchasing and stocking of medications and supplies across the pharmacy. This role emphasizes supplier management, par-level optimization, and ensuring compliance with all ordering and receiving regulations.

The position involves coordinating with Supply Chain and Pharmacy teams, expediting orders, and maintaining stock freshness while minimizing out-of-stocks.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy purchasing experience required.

• Licensure as a Pharmacy Technician preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Manage Pharmacy Purchasing activities, including workflow monitoring, Purchase Orders, order acknowledgments, order expediting, phone orders, and order processing, in a timely and accurate manner.
• Utilize the prime vendor's ordering system and consistently prepare orders through their web portal to secure the best possible pricing.
• Analyzes the drug recall process and communicates the recall to the Supply Chain Manager.
• Place orders, close purchase orders, open POS when shipments are delayed or received impartially; monitor, turn, and adjust par levels to maximize freshness while minimizing out-of-stocks.
• Recognizes, communicates, and escalates supply chain and inventory management, critical path, and/or timeline concerns in a timely manner.
• Manage the patient-specific ordering and tracking process for ultra-high-cost pharmaceuticals.
• Coordinates transportation, shopping, and warehousing activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
• Coordinate and return products to stock, receipt, and delivery, as applicable.
• Ensure compliance with all ordering and receiving regulations.

Job Summary

• Pharmacy Technician [State License] - Generic - HR Only required Pharmacy Technician Certification [CPhT] - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required

Experience

Pharmacy Supply Chain Experience 3-5 years required
