Job summary

Providence Centralia Hospital seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support sterile compound preparation and aseptic technique within a hospital setting. Responsibilities include inventory management, ADM maintenance, and coordination of medication orders and stocking to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

Qualified candidates hold a WA Pharmacy Technician License with PTCB certification, plus 3–4 years of hospital or integrated health system experience, including sterile compounding, and a HS diploma

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • Must obtain Washington Pharmacy Technician License at hire.
  • Minimum 3 years of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system or sterile compounding with PTCB.
  • 4 years experience if technician does not have PTCB certification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sterile compounds (hazardous and non-hazardous) using aseptic technique and support sterile compounding activities.
  • Maintain and stock automated dispensing machines (ADM) where applicable.
  • Inventory management of drugs and infusion supplies, ordering and receiving.
  • Coordinate pharmacy services activities including maintenance and cleanings.

Description

Support and assist in the coordination of Pharmacy Services activities including preparation of sterile compounds both hazardous and non-hazardous using aseptic technique, compounding pharmacy maintenance and scheduled cleanings, inventory management of drugs and infusion supplies, ordering, stocking and receiving of medications and supplies, processes specialty orders, and maintains and stocks automated dispensing machine (ADM) where applicable.

Required qualifications:
  • H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • Upon hire: Washington Pharmacy Technician License.
  • 3 years Minimum of 3 years (> 6240 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system or sterile compounding experience and PTCB certification, OR
  • 4 years (> 8320 hours) experience if technician does not have PTCB certification.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Coursework/Training: Pharmacy technician program (may be required in some states for pharmacy technicians).
  • Coursework/Training: Sterile compounding (and hazardous drug) coursework.
  • Specialty certification (e.g. ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state
  • Preferred PTCB certificate in Hazardous Drug Management.
  • Oncology experience, hospital work experience base.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
