Job summary

Banner Staffing Services-AZ is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacy Department in processing prior authorization requests and ensuring compliant, timely handling of PA activities. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist and/or medical director to review drug approvals and document outcomes.

The role involves interacting with members, providers, and internal teams, generating required reports, and contributing to regulatory oversight.

Qualifications

Requires pharmacy technician licensure in the state of practice and pharmacy technician certification.
Incumbents in Arizona must provide the AZ Board wallet card at time of hire.
3+ years of experience performing pharmacy technician duties in a pharmacy setting with managed care emphasis.

Responsibilities

Process and finalize PA requests under supervision: enter PAs, prioritize, review alternatives and approvals, document outcomes.
Ensure formulary compliance, member cost-sharing, and regulatory requirements.
Communicate clearly with internal and external health care professionals; assist customers with issues.
Provide reporting on member pharmacy claims history and CSPMP profiles.
Review Medicare denied claims and contact pharmacy to resolve processing issues.
