Job summary

Walmart Pharmacy in Ashland, KY is seeking a Pre-Grad Intern to gain hands-on experience in a community pharmacy setting. You will assist with processing prescriptions, deliver patient care, and learn to navigate clinical therapies while upholding confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Pharmacy school.
• Pharmacy-based immunization delivery certification is preferred.
• HIPAA and PHI guidelines awareness preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process prescription and OTC orders with accuracy.
• Deliver patient care by assessing needs and guiding therapies.
• Maintain confidentiality of records per policies.
• Receive and stock merchandise from distribution centers.
• Support inventory management and pharmacy area upkeep.

What you'll do:

• Ensure confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records according to Company policies, and local, State, and Federal guidelines.
• Help with processing prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) orders and purchases.
• Deliver patient care by recognizing the patient, assessing their needs, and helping navigate clinical therapies.
• Receive and stock merchandise/supplies from distribution centers and suppliers.

• Proficiency in pharmaceutical care and implementing best practices.
• Excellent ability to foster relationships with customers and pharmacy team.
• Capability to cater to individual patient needs.
• Enthusiasm for participating in community activities, outreach, and events.
