Windsor Healthcare Recruitment Group, Inc. seeks a certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician to provide technical support in outpatient settings. You will assist pharmacists with unit-dose preparation, data entry, medication delivery, and cartfill exchanges.

Under direct supervision, you will ensure accuracy of standard operations and adapt to a range of patient ages while handling hazardous meds per guidelines. Oregon license must be current at submission.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma completed.
  • Oregon Pharmacy Technician license in hand at submission.
  • Complete training competencies as required.
  • Able to read and understand medical terms clearly.
  • Capable of basic pharmaceutical mathematics calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare unit doses and perform data entry under supervision.
  • Deliver medications and perform cartfill exchange.
  • Maintain accountability and accuracy of SOPs in duties.
  • Work under a Pharmacist for safe distribution of drugs.

Job description

Outpatient Pharmacy Tech 3 Required: Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician 1-3 years mixing experience

JOB SUMMARY:

This position provides technical support to pharmacists through preparation of unit doses, data entry, delivery of medications, and cartfill exchange.

Person working this shift is responsible for ensuring accountability and accuracy of standard operations procedures in these areas.

Position works under direct supervision of a Pharmacist who is responsible for the safe and proper distribution and use of drugs in inpatients and outpatients who range in age from neonates, infants <1 year old, children and adolescents ages 1-18, adults ages 19-65, and the elderly age >65.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of high school degree
  • State of Oregon Pharmacy Technician License IN HAND AT SUBMISSION
  • Completion of training competencies
  • Computer keyboard
  • Ability to read and understand medical-related terms
  • Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical mathematics calculations
  • Skill at manipulating small objects, e.g., needles, syringes, ampules
  • Ability to use mechanical system for transfer of fluids
  • Knowledge of and skill at application of aseptic technique
  • Ability to establish priorities in workflow
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work under supervision of diverse Pharmacists
  • Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals and noise
  • Understand the difference of non-hazardous and hazardous medications; safely handle hazardous medications per regulatory guidelines
  • Flexibility in scheduling of shift times
  • Accountability for accuracy associated with performance of the duties to this position
  • Ability to stand/walk, push or pull delivery carts, bending and reaching for 6-8 continuous hours per day
  • Maintain automation dispensing cabinet movement and stock to accommodate patient needs
  • Ability to manipulate dosage form devices (i.e., syringes, unit dose packaging etc)
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Formal pharmacy technician training program
  • Inpatient and outpatient hospital pharmacy experience
  • Medical and scientific nomenclature
