Job summary

Adventist Health Twin Cities is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a 13-week travel assignment in Templeton, CA. The role supports pharmacists, performs unit-dose filling, prepares IV medications, stocks medications, and ensures accurate labeling and dispensing.

A state pharmacy technician license is required; board certification is preferred. Experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred. The project runs August through November with rotating shifts, 40 hours per week, and E-Verify participation.

Responsibilities

  • Check in orders from wholesalers and suppliers
  • Assist with paperwork and basic duties as assigned

Certifications: Preferred board certification in pharmacy technician

Located amongst oak trees, this facility has been serving the local community since 1977.

Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, the team provides exceptional care in various medical and surgical services.

Locals enjoy farmers markets, farm-to-fork dining, beautiful landscapes for hiking and biking, and beach days just a short drive away.

  • Performs packaging, manipulative, repetitive, or other nondiscretionary tasks related to the furnishing of drugs.
  • Assists and works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Fills and delivers unit dose cassettes from the patients' profiles to nursing units.
  • Pulls medications from stock and matches them with the corresponding labels generated by the pharmacist.
  • Maintains floor stock by restocking, removing expired medications, and rotating stock in nursing and medication areas.
  • Prices and stocks incoming deliveries.
  • Prepares IV medication products within the guidelines of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Checks in orders from wholesalers and suppliers.
  • Distributes stock appropriately and files paperwork; processes returns and back orders in a timely manner.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
