GENERAL SUMMARY:

Location: Southfield
The Pharmacy Manager reports to Director of Pharmacy and works closely with the managers and staff in other areas of the department. The manager is responsible for planning, implementing and managing patient care related pharmacy services. The manager provides leadership for professional staff and provides overall assurance that pharmaceutical services meet patient care needs and are as economical as possible.

PRINCPLE DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES:
Approves written policies and procedures for services in the area of responsibility prior to implementation.
Plans or assists in the design and the layout of physical facilities as necessary to
support service in the areas of responsibility.
Creates and maintains an environment which supports pharmaceutical research.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Must have obtained an advanced degree (Pharm.D. or equivalent), completed a residency program approved by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists, a fellowship in pharmacy, or have demonstrated a similar level of achievement in the practice of pharmacy.
Must demonstrate leadership ability in working with and coordinating activities of others in developing improved pharmacy services.
Must demonstrate verbal and written communication skills which enable manager to contribute effectively in the dissemination of information to all levels of health care personnel in the institution. The manager should likewise demonstrate a desire to contribute to the pharmaceutical literature.
