Job summary

A nationwide staffing agency is seeking a pharmacist in Louisville, KY, to oversee daily operations and lead pharmacy staff. Job description

  • Weekend requirement: 2 weekends per 4‑week period (will work Saturday and Sunday the weekend you are on)
  • Lunch: Pharmacy closed 1:00–1:30 PM
MUST HAVES
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited program
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing (state of employment)
  • Ability to interpret prescriptions, reports, and regulatory documents
  • Proven leadership and people‑management skills
PLUSSES
  • 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
DAY TO DAY
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations while serving as a role model for pharmacists and technicians
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate pharmacy staff; provide performance feedback and development
  • Manage workflow, staffing, and scheduling to optimize customer service and control labor costs
  • Ensure accurate prescription fulfillment, patient safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee inventory management, including controlled substances and ordering practices
  • Monitor third‑party/insurance performance and resolve rejections, audits, and profitability issues
  • Drive pharmacy performance against sales, volume, inventory, and budget goals
  • Promote clinical services, public health initiatives, and disease state management programs
  • Build relationships with local providers and community partners
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and company policies
