Agape Family Health is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to oversee the full practice of pharmacy at our Florida clinics, under the Director of Pharmacy. Responsibilities include dispensing, drug distribution, and adherence to DEA, 340B and accreditation standards to ensure safe, accurate service.

Under Florida DPR Statute 465.018, the manager leads the prescription department, supervises technicians, and collaborates with providers on medication management to optimize patient outcomes.

SUMMARY

Agape Family Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that assists patients of its clinics on their path to better health –from advising on prescriptions to helping manage chronic and specialty conditions. As Pharmacy Manager you have one of the most significant roles in our company – delivering our purpose, modeling our values, and demonstrating genuine, authentic care for our patients.Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, responsible for the full practice of pharmacy in accordance with applicable regulatory statues and accreditation standards; interpreting prescription orders, packaging, labeling, dispensing, administering and distribution of drugs and devices; accepts full responsibility as Prescription Department Manager of the site as defined in Florida DPR Statute #465.018, and other requirements as defined in Statutes 465, 21s, 893, plus applicable DEA, HRSA and 340b requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pharmacy Technicians.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE

• Consistently at work and on time, as established; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.

Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and members of the clinical staff

• Provide advice about health issues, symptoms, and medications in response to customer enquiries
• Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood glucose meters
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
• Keep waiting times for patients to a minimum, ensuring that resource is utilized effectively within the pharmacy and scheduling of staff
• Fill new prescriptions and refills of medications by reviewing and interpreting clinician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
• Medication ordering and maintenance of appropriate inventory controls within the pharmacy.
• Within the guidelines of the authorized protocol, manage the stock and designated 340B medications.
• Collaborates with providers on medication management
• Identify patient’s drug-related problems and effectively communicate with clinicians
• Supervise pharmacy technicians
• Verify technician preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals.
• Verify order entries such as patient name, prescribed medication, and cost, to maintain pharmacy files and inventory
• Manage rejected claims, conduct gross margin analysis, and generate reports for management.
• Ensure pharmacy compliance with ethical, professional, and legal pharmacy standards to ensure that every customer and patient receives a safe, accurate and efficient service
• Make decisions which positively affect all aspects of pharmacy performance that are aligned with the Agape Community Health Center values

Rational and safe drug use

• Understands and communicates to subordinate staff the rational and the process of safe drug therapy.

Pharmacy economics and cost-effective purchasing

• Assume individual pharmacy operational responsibilities including financial performance.
• Ensures accurate pricing for effective purchasing
• Updated drug prices and inventory counts
• Provides monthly reports to Director of Pharmacy: Year to date sales summary and Monthly sales summary by the 5th of the month
• Ensures that the pharmacy is compliant with guidelines and best practices for Federally Qualified Health Care centers & 340B program, as established by ACHC leadership
