Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to execute, monitor, and train on inventory best practices for the facility/pharmacy. You will support receiving, counting, ordering, and returns, ensuring item accuracy and adherence to SOPs.

You will coordinate with Pharmacist in-charge and leadership to maintain on-hand counts and accuracy across all departments, including recalls, vendor returns, and pharmacy claims posting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and at least 4 years of diagnostics/analytics in an inventory management or relevant field.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Must have a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• “Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
• Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems. Experience in performing diagnostics and analytical tasks.
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Must have three months prior work experience with Walgreens with no written disciplinary action within the last 12 months (internal candidates only).

Responsibilities

• Validates process adherence within facility and partners to create and maintain SOPs.
• Coordinates inventory activities in collaboration with PIC, Site Director, and senior leaders.
• Educates team on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes and inventory systems.
• Ensures all deliveries are scanned-in and marked received; coordinates with vendors for past undelivered receipts.
• Verifies and posts pharmacy shipments at Central Fulfillment; manages recalls and vendor returns.
• Maintains accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities across all areas.
• Supports On-Shelf Availability end-to-end process, disposals, and vendor returns before expiration.
• Prepares for physical inventory and supports day-of inventory activities.
• Maintains compliance with state/local laws regarding regulated products.
• Keeps inventory records updated and organizes invoices/receipts for all activities.
• Coaches Fulfillment site team on package delivery, scanning, daily inventory, and returns.
