Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida is seeking a Pharmacy Intern in advanced training prior to licensure as a registered pharmacist under Florida statute 64B16-26.401.

The intern will perform pharmacist-related duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, including the processing and reviewing of specialty prescriptions, managing prior authorizations and financial assistance programs, coordinating medication access and distribution for limited-distribution and high-cost therapies,

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent required.
  • Active enrollment in an accredited college.
  • Florida Pharmacy Intern designation.
  • Experience evaluating patients and processing medication orders.

Responsibilities

  • Process and review specialty prescriptions.
  • Assist with prior authorizations and financial assistance programs.
  • Coordinate medication access and distribution for high-cost therapies.
  • Provide patient education on specialty medications.
  • Monitor patient therapy, adherence, and adverse effects.
  • Support clinical documentation and outcomes tracking.
  • Assist patients with management of complex treatment regimens.
  • Maintain records and reports required by law.
  • Complete documentation and operational processes required by health system and specialty pharmacy accreditation standards.

Summary

A Pharmacy Intern is in advanced training prior to licensure as a registered pharmacist under Florida Statute 64B16-26.401. The intern will perform pharmacist-related duties within the Moffitt Cancer Center Specialty Pharmacy under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, including the processing and reviewing of specialty prescriptions, managing prior authorizations and financial assistance programs, coordinating medication access and distribution for limited-distribution and high-cost therapies, providing patient education on specialty medications, monitoring patient therapy, adherence, and adverse effects, supporting clinical documentation and outcomes tracking, assisting patients with complex treatment regimens, and maintaining records and reports required by law and accreditation standards.

Minimum Credentials Required

Salary Range

$26.25 - $26.25 per hour. This range represents the expected base pay for the role; actual compensation may vary based on location and other factors.
