Job summary

Walgreens Co. in San Francisco, CA is seeking Pharmacy Intern candidates who will support pharmacists and the pharmacy team to deliver excellent patient care.

You will learn to provide the best patient experience by assisting with prescriptions, pharmacy systems, and regulatory compliance. Under pharmacist supervision, you will dispense and process prescriptions, counsel patients, participate in inventory management, and help maintain a clean, compliant pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Pharmacy program and pursuing PharmD or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers and patients, greeting them and offering assistance to ensure a positive experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices and Walgreens service traits to deliver a delightful experience.
• Develop strong relationships with customers.
• Under pharmacist supervision, assist in the practice of pharmacy, follow policy, and help with entering, third-party processing, filling and dispensing prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers with patient care activities within state scope, including counseling and health services.
• Report prescription errors promptly and adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies.
• Handle cash register and customer transactions, and assist in inventory management and stocking.
• Support pharmacy operations, including communication with physicians and maintaining a clean, organized department.
• Complete training and participate in ongoing knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy developments.
