Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support the pharmacist and pharmacy team in delivering excellent patient experiences and processing prescriptions in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will learn to practice pharmacy, assist with medication entry and dispensing, and support patient counseling and health services while upholding policy and SOPs. This role involves inventory support and customer service in a store environment.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a school of Pharmacy program.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision by the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
• Reviews and complies with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Performs duties as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist in accordance with Walgreens SOPs for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
• Assists pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services within the state scope of practice for pharmacy interns including patient counseling.
• Immediately reports prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adheres to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors.
• Adheres to Good Faith Dispensing policy.
• Registers all related sales on assigned cash register and handles cash as required.
• Assists with inventory management and maintaining a stocked, clean Pharmacy Department.
• Maintains professional relationships with coworkers and completes special assignments as directed.
