Job summary

Kroger in Salem, OR is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support pharmacy operations and deliver outstanding customer care. You will assist with prescription processing, patient counseling, immunizations under the supervision of the pharmacist, and medication recommendations for OTC products.

As part of a team-focused environment, you will maintain accurate records, communicate with prescribers, and help ensure safe, compliant, and compassionate service to every customer.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a US school of pharmacy.
• Holding a current state issued Pharmacy Intern license.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical products and discuss these with customers and prescribers.
• Provide drug counseling to customers.
• Assist with over the counter medications recommendations.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Dispense the correct medication.
• Contact prescribers’ offices for authorization.
• Process third party insurance information for customers.
• Facilitate charge purchases for customers.
• Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for fill/refill.
• Provide immunizations under the supervision of the pharmacist.
