Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern for its retail pharmacies. You will apply didactic learning to real-world practice under a preceptor, supporting pharmacists and technicians to ensure safe, accurate prescription fulfillment and patient care.

You will learn SOPs, gain exposure to store, district, and regional operations, and contribute to a positive patient experience while expanding clinical and technical knowledge in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Accepted into, or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.

Responsibilities

  • Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health.
  • Following pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Counseling patients, fielding medical questions, and collecting patient history when appropriate under supervision.
  • Taking telephonic prescriptions from the prescriber and clarifying prescriptions when allowed.
  • Providing training, coaching, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
  • Completing basic inventory activities and cycle counts as directed by leadership.
  • Traveling to stores in the market to support shifts as needed and ensuring patient safety and privacy.
