Job summary

PharMerica is seeking a pharmacy student to join our non-retail, closed‑door pharmacy team. You will fill prescriptions, prepare IVs, and support data entry with a focus on accurate, timely delivery to customers.

Under supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, you will assist in prepackaging, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards as part of a collaborative care team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Pharmacy school.
• Ability to use a computer.
• Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, oral communication.
• Licences/Certifications: As required by state and federal law.

Responsibilities

• Fills prescriptions and prepares IVs under supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
• Enter data into the computer system with Billing Supervisor to process prescriptions and reimbursements.
• Prepackaging medications for dispensing under supervision per standards and regulations.
• Assist in final checking of filled prescriptions and packaging post-review for accurate delivery to customers.
• Maintain inventory practices including receiving, rotating medications and tracking lot numbers/expiry dates.
• Collaborate with Pharmacy Management to keep a clean, safe work environment and equipment calibrated.

Responsibilities

• Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, fills prescriptions and prepares IV's
• Works with Billing Supervisor to enter data into computer system to fill prescriptions and to obtain reimbursement payment
• Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist in prepackaging medication for dispensing according to standards and government regulations
• Assists the Pharmacist in final checking of filled prescriptions, which may include stating the medication for RPh final review and/or packaging of medication post RPh final review and coordinating accurate and timely delivery to the customer
• Assists Pharmacy Management in maintaining good inventory practices which may include receiving and rotating incoming medications and supplies, posting lot numbers, expiration dates and assisting in physical inventory
• Works with Technician Supervisor in maintaining a clean/safe work environment, checking equipment for calibration, safety and cleanliness
