Job summary

Meijer in Battle Creek, MI is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to join our pharmacy team. Enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school and holding a Pharmacy Intern License (state-specific), you will assist with prescription processing, patient counseling, and third-party billing under supervision.

You will support inventory management, patient confidentiality, and health screening services while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school and actively pursuing pharmacy licensure.
• Strong communication, customer service and confidentiality awareness.
• Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations and handle prescription data.

Responsibilities

• Customer service and patient interaction in person and by phone.
• Processing and filling prescriptions; third party adjudication.
• Inventory management and balance on hand updates.
• Assist with health screening tests and immunizations after training.
• Support vendor relationships, pricing, and pharmacy operations.

What You'll Be Doing

• Customer service.
• Communicating with patients in person and via telephone; assisting patients with product selection; obtaining medication prices (internally and from competitors) pursuant to patient requests.
• Processing and filling prescriptions.
• Using pharmacy computer system for prescription data entry & third party adjudication; pulling correct products from the shelf; counting and labeling prescriptions appropriately at fill station; receiving new prescriptions from patients, selling prescriptions to patients at the Will Call station.
• Third-party functions.
• Inventory management.
• Updating balance on hand (BOH); product ordering; looking up Meijer codes; checking-in and putting away orders; processing vendor charge backs (VCBs)/transfers/salvage.
• Clinical services.
