Job Summary

Engages in post‑graduate pharmacy activities under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to fulfill State Board of Pharmacy requirements. Provides pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding effective medication use, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare services such as immunizations. Ensures proper compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines, company policies, and procedures. Supports efficient workflow and assists the pharmacy manager in optimizing financials, inventory, and customer experience.

Job Responsibilities

Customer Experience

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members.
• Develops strong relationships with valuable customers by anticipating needs and proactively offering services.
• Participates and assists in community events as requested by the Store Manager, Healthcare Supervisor, District Manager, or Pharmacy Manager.

Operations

• Under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, counsels patients and answers questions regarding medicine usage, side effects, interactions, privacy, generics, and over‑the‑counter products.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews, interprets, and accurately dispenses prescribed medications when necessary.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies, and standards; assists the pharmacy manager with workflow procedures.
• Responsible for opening and closing the pharmacy, as well as shift change duties.
• Ensures Good Faith Dispensing policy elements are present when filling prescriptions.
• Maintains current knowledge of IT systems such as Intercom Plus, registers, automation, StoreNET to support customers and staff.
• Proposes and implements system enhancements to promote productivity.
• Accurately processes insurance claims and follows up with insurers and medical providers to resolve issues.
• Performs preventive services such as immunizations, flu shots, diabetes awareness, and other wellness services.
• Assists the pharmacy manager in analyzing performance data including financial, customer service, and inventory management.
• Develops and maintains relationships with local medical community and participates in outreach activities.
• Partners with Central Pharmacy Operations for customer registration, reviews, and customer issue resolution.
• Conducts virtual product reviews in virtual environments following company procedures and guidelines.

People & Performance Management

• Assists the Pharmacy Manager with staff hiring and training.
• Promotes teamwork and motivates team members by establishing expectations and recognizing progress.

Training & Personal Development

• Maintains current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare.
• Obtains necessary certifications, education credits, and training such as People Plus Learning modules as required.
• Seeks professional development by monitoring performance, soliciting feedback, and leveraging mentors.

Communications

• Supports the Pharmacy Manager and Store Manager by communicating relevant corporate health and wellness services or strategy information to pharmacy staff.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university outside the United States.
• Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC).
• Intern permit/certificate issued by the respective Board of Pharmacy, if required.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 45 days of completion of intern hours.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
