Job summary

Midwest Veterinary Supply, Inc. seeks a Pharmacy Technician for our DeForest, WI branch. You will process prescriptions, label and package medications, and assist in inventory management under the Pharmacist on Duty.

You will support customers including veterinarians and pet owners, handle paperwork, and contribute to efficient operations in a busy, compliant setting.

Qualifications

• CPhT certification preferred.
• No experience required; one year of pharmacy/fulfillment desirable.

Midwest Veterinary Supply is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for our Deforest, Wisconsin Branch.

Job Summary

Ensure safe and effective processing of prescription and non‑prescription medications and devices by properly labeling and packaging products for delivery to individuals via common courier under the direction of the Pharmacist on Duty. Manage inventory by maintaining and organizing stock.

Essential Job Functions

• Accurately fill prescriptions and transcribe patient data into pharmacy software to generate labels for placement on product. Prepare product for shipment.
• Provide customer service to veterinarians, pet owners, and sales representatives.
• Manage filling of paperwork such as invoices and prescriptions.
• Complete other duties, assignments and special projects as requested by Pharmacist on Duty.

Maintain a good work ethic while taking intentional steps toward the fiscal health of JAT Pharmacy, LLC.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
• Must meet the requirements as defined in the Wisconsin Board of Pharmacy regulations
• A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• No experience required. One year of pharmacy technician or other customer order fulfillment experience is desired but not required. CPhT certification preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals
• Basic computer skills, ability to operate a Windows-based computer and data entry
• Ability to differentiate details related to product codes and descriptions (such as verifying a string of numbers)
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages
• Good written and verbal communication skills and professional demeanor
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and adapt to changes in processes
• Well-developed critical thinking skills
• Must be self‑motivated and able to work independently

Equipment Used

Windows based computer, tape gun, safety knife, safety equipment, markers, label equipment, packaging materials, telephone, fax and copier.

Work will be performed indoors in a relatively temperature controlled climate where moderate heat, cold or humidity may be experienced. Moderate exposure to dust and dirt may also be expected. Work will typically be performed Monday through Friday. Working more than 40 hours per workweek may be required.
