Job summary

MU Health Care's Mizzou Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated pharmacy driver to ensure safe, timely delivery of medications and related items between hospitals, clinics, and patients’ homes. A Pharmacy Technician license and a Class E chauffeur’s license (Missouri) are required, along with a clean driving record and excellent customer service.

The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to safety protocols, and coordination with patients and MUHC staff to deliver a seamless pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
  • Chauffeur driver license; class E or higher for Missouri residents.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver prescriptions or other supplies to residential and external business addresses.
  • Obtain delivery confirmation signatures and communicate directly with patients, pharmacy and MUHC staff.
  • Operate small to medium size motor vehicles for transportation and delivery of prescription medications, materials and general supplies.
  • Safely and efficiently follow delivery routes and observe traffic and parking regulations.
  • Operate tracking technology.
  • Track lost or missing packages and recover/intercept abandoned deliveries.
  • Load and unload vehicle and operate a hand cart.
  • Perform routine vehicle safety checks including reporting defects.
  • Perform pharmacy technician related duties and other duties as assigned.

Compensation:

  • Base Pay Range: $16.68 - $26.31/hour, based on experience
ABOUT THE JOB

Join our dynamic Mizzou Pharmacy team as a pharmacy driver, where your role will make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our community! The pharmacy driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional delivery of medications and pharmacy-related items between hospitals, clinics, pharmacy locations, and directly to patients’ homes. This role requires excellent customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain the security and integrity of medications during transport. Drivers may operate a regular passenger vehicle or box truck and in addition to a pharmacy technician license must maintain a valid driver’s license, including a Class E Chauffeur's license, and a safe driving record. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Pick up and deliver prescriptions or other supplies to residential and external business addresses.

Obtain delivery confirmation signatures and communicate directly with patients, pharmacy and other MUHC staff.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.

Chauffeur driver license; class E or higher for Missouri residents.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 lbs and occasionally move objects up to 25 lbs or more. This role may also routinely come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
