Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Customer Experience professional in the United States to greet customers, assist with products, and resolve issues to ensure a positive store experience. You will handle checkout, returns, and help maintain clean, organized displays while supporting pharmacy-related inventory and workflow as needed.

The role requires fluency in English and a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, with prior experience in retail and basic computer skills

Job description

Customer Experience
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including greetings, eye contact, courtesy, and Walgreens service traits such as proactively offering help, identifying needs, and servicing until satisfied.
Operations
  • Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
  • Recommends items for sale, including trade‑ups and companion items.
  • Registers customer purchases on the assigned cash register, processes cash, handles voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges, and assists customers to the OTC aisle as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness, merchandising, inventory records, pricing, and overall store upkeep.
  • Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including pharmacy system usage, prescription entry, filling, medication verification, interaction checks, and workflow support.
  • Reports prescription errors immediately, complies with the Pharmacy Code of Conduct, and adheres to Good Faith Dispensing policy.
  • Handles calls not requiring pharmacist’s personal attention, including physician calls.
  • Processes manual claims for third‑party prescription services efficiently.
  • Supports pharmacy inventory management: ordering, unpacking, shipment, stocking, and claim filing for overages, shortages, or damages.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco.
  • Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional, seasonal, and supervised sale merchandise, and completes resets and revisions as directed.
  • Separates food items per policy and assists with stock rotation using the first‑in, first‑out method.
  • Has working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
  • Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo, poster print, and creative machine services.
  • Assumes web pick‑up responsibilities.
  • Assists with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, and orderly store condition.
  • Maintains respectful relationships with coworkers and completes special assignments as directed.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated training program or state‑required certification/registration.
  • Attends training, completes PPLs requested by the manager or corporate, and acquires continuing education credits to maintain knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Basic Qualifications
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
