Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service including refill orders.
• Stock and stockroom duties; keep pharmacy supplies well stocked and organized.
• Process cash transactions accurately and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Prepare paperwork and assemble medicines for delivery and mail-outs; coordinate nursing home medications as needed.

There is occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals or solvents during compounding, including chemotherapy drugs. This pharmacy handles and prepares hazardous drugs; personnel of reproductive capability should be aware that exposure may cause acute and chronic effects, and that following all pharmacy policies and procedures is essential to minimizing risk.
