Saint Luke's Hospital seeks a Pharmacy Buyer to join our team. Under supervision of a pharmacist, you will handle electronic drug purchasing, receiving orders, and coordinating with drug representatives to ensure purchasing aligns with SLHS policies.

This full-time day position supports multiple facilities within Saint Luke's Health System and requires 3–5 years of pharmacy technician experience with a relevant diploma.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as Pharmacy Technician or equivalent.
• Diploma in Pharmacy Technician or related field.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze purchasing documents with departments to determine requirements, specs, quantities, and delivery.
• Maintain cost-effective purchasing and find alternatives for shortages or backorders.
• Place direct drug purchase orders with pharmaceutical vendors and suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery terms when possible.
• Coordinate with prime wholesaler to ensure contract compliance.
• Inform supervisor of critical drug shortages and backorders; resolve invoicing discrepancies.
• Coordinate recalls and returns of drug products as needed.
• Stay current with 340B regulations and implement changes to maintain compliance.

Saint Luke's Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Buyer to join our team! Under the supervision of a pharmacist, this position is responsible for a broad range of purchasing functions which includes electronic drug purchasing, receiving orders, charge-credit processing and meeting with drug representatives; purchasing pharmaceuticals and supplies consistent with departmental and SLHS policies and procedures.

Hours 8-4:30 M-F

• Review and analyze purchasing documents. This process includes conferring with departments regarding requirements, specifications, quantities and delivery requirements
• Maintain cost-effective purchasing techniques and find appropriate alternatives to medications on shortage, back order, high-dollar, etc.
• Responsible for direct drug purchase orders to vendors of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
• This may involve some negotiation on pricing and delivery
• Interact with prime wholesaler to assure compliance with terms and conditions of contracts
• Inform supervisor/staff of critical drug shortages and backorders
• Resolve invoicing discrepancies such as price or quantity received.
• Process adjustments for damaged or incorrect shipments.
• Coordinate removal and return of recalled drug products
• Keep current with regulations and federal laws governing the 340B drug pricing program and implements changes as necessary to maintain compliance (for 340B eligible facilities)
