Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy, LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Billing Specialist III to manage patient billing and insurance processing within a fast-paced pharmacy setting.

The role requires Pharmacy Technician certification, 3+ years of billing experience including Medicare/ Medicaid, advanced computer skills and strong attention to detail. Schedule: Mon-Fri 11:30 am–8:00 pm, training 9am-5:30pm for 3–6 months; eligible for one remote day after year one.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician license or certification per state rules; national certification preferred (PTCB).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years related billing experience including at least 1 year at Billing Specialist II.
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy information system experience.

Responsibilities

• Research and establish patient eligibility coverage with insurance providers; enter/update patient data.
• Maintain and audit patient files to defend third-party audits and ensure payer compliance.
• Respond to billing inquiries via phone or electronic communications; resolve issues with insurance.
• Run Medicare plan comparisons during open enrollment and special enrollment periods.
• Complete daily census, admit, discharge, and room changes for facilities.
• Process payments, returns, and credits; handle credit card transmissions.
• Resolve claim rejections and rebill as needed; coordinate with insurers as necessary.
• Serve as subject matter expert in pharmacy information systems and billing workflows.
