Job summary

Walgreens in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Billing and Collections Specialist responsible for accurate billing and collection of third-party and patient payments for products and services rendered.

You will submit invoices, verify authorizations, manage patient balances, and support Medicare documentation and audits while maintaining knowledge of billing practices and patient assistance programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician license or permit where required by state.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification through approved program or state registration.
• Experience communicating verbally and in writing to diverse audiences.
• Experience delivering customer service to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Submit timely, accurate invoices to payer for products and services provided.
• Determine quantities and prices for products and services billed.
• Verify services and products are correctly authorized and documentation is on file.
• Ensure Medicare documentation is received and submitted.
• Review reports to maximize generic substitution opportunities.
• Manage and collect patient balances prior to prescription dispensing or per policy.
• Ensure all billing documentation is completed prior to claim submission.
• Process reimbursement checks/payments per policy.
• Review price modify logs and ensure SDL claims.
• Review, research and resolve third party chargebacks promptly.
• Assist with third party audits per policy.
• Process and file SDL claims per policy.
• Handle processing of prescription exceptions including prior authorizations and referrals.
