Job summary

Amber Specialty Pharmacy is seeking a Benefits Specialist to verify and secure current insurance coverage for referrals and medications. The role ensures accurate benefits investigations, including prior authorizations, to maximize allowable reimbursements and maintain timely processing.

The position focuses on coordinating with insurers, providers, and patients, with a Monday–Friday schedule and 40-hour work week in a professional office setting.

Qualifications

• HIPAA trained and able to handle extremely confidential patient and employee information.
• One (1) year experience in Benefits.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• This is an office-based position.
• Enter data requirements accurately and efficiently into tracking software.
• Maintain documentation of calls to and from patients, caregivers, insurance companies, providers and Pharma (if applicable).
• Notifies appropriate staff of information gathered during calls that may affect patient’s disease state, medication regimen or funding.
• Knowledge of primary code classifications: ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS.
