Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacists in dispensing medications and maintaining drug supplies. The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or GED and a Pharmacy Technician License.

Responsibilities include replenishing stock, delivering medications, and ensuring filling stations are organized. The position starts at a minimum rate of $18.65 hourly, with comprehensive benefits offered.

The Pharmacy Assistant functions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and performs all of the essential generic job functions as listed below.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Pharmacy Assistant at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

• Assists the pharmacist in replenishing floor stock.
• Assists the pharmacist in delivering medications to patient care areas.
• Assists the pharmacist with the receipt and stocking of medication deliveries.
• Delivers medication carts to patient care areas.
• Assists the pharmacist in the maintenance of adequate drug supplies in filling stations and notifies appropriate departmental personnel regarding needed supplies.
• Assures that filling stations are maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
• Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.

• Previous hospital experience.
