Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in dispensing and distribution of medications. You will engage with patients and staff and handle medication orders, using Meditech and Omnicell systems.

The role requires at least one year of pharmacy experience, NYS registration, and a sterile compounding certificate for IV room work. Day shift, full-time position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and/or distribution of medications.
• Obtains and maintains knowledge of department Policies and Procedures and Joint Commission standards.
• Performs inventory control tasks: rotate stock, replenish, audits, monitor outdates.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
• Operates Meditech and Omnicell; troubleshoot issues with equipment and discrepancies.
• Enter medication charges in the system accurately.
• Maintain IV room certification: cleaning and related duties.
• Additional duties may include medication historian or IV room tasks.

May need to troubleshoot issues with equipment and discrepancies.· Responsible for entering medication charges in system accurately.· Performs essential functions related to maintaining IV room certification such as cleaning of IV room and surrounding areas.· *The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned in alignment with experience and education.
