Job summary

Alliant is seeking a Health & Welfare consultant to support delivery of consulting projects for employer prospects and clients. You will help with PBM financial proposals, draft deliverables, and collaborate with Senior Pharmacy Consultants to develop client strategy.

Responsibilities include researching industry issues, managing projects and meetings, and ensuring data integrity in our systems. Strong communication, analytical skills and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of actuarial, underwriting, pricing or consulting experience in Health & Welfare
  • Working knowledge of commercial health insurance and financial acumen

Responsibilities

  • Assist with PBM financial modeling for proposals
  • Prepare first drafts of new business and client deliverables
  • Support client strategy development with Senior Pharmacy Consultants
  • Research issues for large employers in pharmacy and summarize findings
  • Manage projects with QA checks and on-time delivery
  • Schedule and manage weekly/bi-weekly status meetings
  • Collaborate with client teams to improve pharmacy resources and processes
  • Ensure data standards and data integrity in the agency system
  • Other duties as assigned

Job description

SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting the delivery of consulting projects to our employer prospects and clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists with financial modeling of Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) financial proposals;
  • Prepares first draft of new business and client deliverables for review by the Senior Pharmacy Consultant;
  • Works with Senior Pharmacy Consultants and other health benefit consultants to support client strategy development;
  • Researches issues of concern to large employers in the pharmacy industry, assimilating information, and developing a written summary for the Senior Pharmacy Consultant to review and refine a point of view;
  • Manages projects, using appropriate tools, to ensure projects are being completed on time and with appropriate quality assurance checks;
  • Schedules and manages weekly/bi-weekly status meetings;
  • Works with client teams to ensure pharmacy practice resources are used appropriately, increasing efficiency by identifying ways to improve processes;
  • Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information);
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care or related industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One (1) or more years of experience in an actuarial, underwriting, pricing or consulting role in a Health &Welfare consulting/brokerage firm, PBM or health insurance carrier, or experience in financial analyses of the health care sector gained in a banking/financial services environment
  • Working knowledge of commercial health insurance industry and financial acumen
