Job summary

Whatley Health Services Pharmacy in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking a Part Time Staff Pharmacist for on-site work. Hours are Saturdays, 8am-3pm, with an estimated pay rate of $60-$65 per hour and the possibility of higher pay if Saturdays are required.

The ideal candidate will hold a Alabama pharmacist license, bring a retail/pharmacy background, and be capable of expanding clinical services and MTM in ambulatory care.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice pharmacy in Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing all of the dispensing duties of a pharmacist, ensuring that all customers receive safe and accurate dispensing, and for adhering to all State and Federal Pharmacy laws regarding the dispensing of medications, record keeping, etc.
• Successful candidate will also be responsible for expanding and enhancing clinical services in the ambulatory care setting including MTM in this position.

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Part Time Staff Pharmacist to work in the Whatley Health Services community healthcare center onsite pharmacy. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity for a pharmacist with a retail pharmacy background and an active AL pharmacist license. In this integrated model, the Pharmacy Team will work closely with providers and clinic staff collaboratively, providing team-based medicine with a strong pharmacy component to provide optimal care for patients.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree, or Pharm. D., from an approved school of pharmacy and registration by the state board of licensure.
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in Alabama.

Experience:

• One-year experience as a practicing pharmacist is preferred.
• Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
• Knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
• Ability to supervise and train assigned staff.
• Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
• Ability to assume essential responsibilities and duties in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
