Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking an evening pharmacist to provide direct pharmaceutical care to adult medical and surgical patients. The role operates on a 7-on/7-off schedule with 10- or 11-hour shifts, typically starting at 12:30 pm, in a highly collaborative, decentralized setting.

You will work with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy colleagues to optimize therapy, ensure safety, and support timely patient care across units. Previous hospital experience or residency is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Thorough knowledge of drugs and their actions; understanding state/local regulations.
  • Hospital experience or residency preferred.
  • Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or equivalent experience preferred.

Summary

Our straight evenings position offers the consistency of 7-8 evening shifts in a 7-on/7-off manner. Shifts may be 10 or11 hours and typically start at 12:30 pm. The evening pharmacist provides direct pharmaceutical care to adult medical and surgical patients through a consistent evening schedule. This highly collaborative role is decentralized within patient care areas, allowing the pharmacist to work closely with providers, nurses, pharmacy colleagues, and other interdisciplinary team members to optimize medication therapy and support safe, timely, and effective patient care.

Qualifications

In a medical center or institutional setting:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of drugs and their actions; knowledge of state and local regulations.
  • Hospital experience or residency preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience preferred.
  • License must be in good standing by the State Board of Pharmacy in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.
