Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Pharmacist for our Specialty Compounding Pharmacy. This 100% work-from-home role can be located anywhere in Pennsylvania or Florida, with a 40-hour weekly expectation.

The pharmacist will interpret orders, ensure accurate dispensing, supervise compounding activities, provide patient and clinician education, and collaborate with the care team to optimize therapy.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Clinical Pharmacy experience.
• Computer skills (word processing, databases, spreadsheet).
• Read, analyze and interpret regulations and professional literature.
• Write and present information to managers, patients, nurses and physicians.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Active Pennsylvania pharmacy license in good standing.
• Must reside in Pennsylvania or Florida.
• Willing to obtain additional state licenses (paid by CVS).

Responsibilities

• Interpret and evaluate physician medication orders for safety, cost effectiveness and accuracy.
• Initiate, review and update documentation and communicate with the healthcare team.
• Coordinate with procurement/reimbursement for formulary products and availability.

Position Summary

As a Pharmacist for our Specialty Compounding Pharmacy, you will have the ability to provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals while providing leadership and guidance to supporting staff. Our Pharmacists ensure the accurate delivery of pharmaceutical care services, which include drug therapy monitoring, patient education, drug information and chronic disease state management for our clinical programs.

Responsibilities

• 1. Clinically interprets and evaluates all physician medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness, cost effectiveness, accuracy, safety, and completeness. Performs accurate computer order entry, labeling and dispensing in accordance with policies and procedures and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• 2. Initiates, reviews, and updates all required documentation to verify accuracy, communicating clinical and technical information and monitoring to other members of the healthcare team and patient when appropriate.
• 3. Works with product procurement/reimbursement team to provide payor specific formulary products and ensure product availability for new medication orders.
• 4. Participates in patient evaluation for acceptance, product selection, device selection, and supply management, working with admission team and nursing agency to coordinate medication preparation and delivery.
• 5. When assigned clean room responsibilities, directly supervises pharmacy support personnel in the appropriate compounding, packaging, and labeling of compounded sterile products. Supervises pharmacy support personnel in the appropriate product procurement, preferred product utilization, and inventory management. Complies with cleanroom policies in accordance with USP 797 for safe compounding practices, maintaining quality assurance (QA) documentation.
• 6. Maintains security of all legend items and accurately maintains all legally required records in compliance with state and federal regulations. Complies with FDA mandates and self-imposed manufacturer restrictions on particular drugs, as applicable.
• 7. Participates in Performance Improvement activities, educational programs, and departmental/branch meetings.
• 8. Assists in training and orientation of new employees as requested by pharmacy manager or designee.
• 9. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including on-call responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Clinical Pharmacy

• Write and present information to managers, patients, nurses and physicians

• Active Pennsylvania pharmacy license that is in good standing
• Must reside in the State of Pennsylvania OR Florida
• Current licensed pharmacist in Pennsylvania
• Willing to obtain additional state pharmacist licenses (paid for by CVS)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is: $50.48 - $84.62 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
