Meijer Pharmacy in Evansville, IN (and Owensboro, KY) seeks Pharmacists and Relief Pharmacists to support pharmacy teams across markets. You’ll counsel patients, administer immunizations where permitted, mentor staff, and lead operations in the absence of the Pharmacist in Charge.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist in applicable state.
• Immunization certification where required.
• Retail or community pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and patient counseling skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy systems, policies, procedures, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications accurately.
• Provide counseling and patient education to ensure optimal medications use.
• Build relationships with patients, providers, and team members.
• Mentor and develop pharmacy technicians while promoting accountability and teamwork.
• Lead pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacist in Charge.
• Perform immunizations and clinical services where permitted by state law.
• Ensure compliance with Meijer policies and all state/federal regulations.
• Prioritize workflow while maintaining safety, quality, and customer service.
• Promote wellness programs and clinical services to improve community health.
• Support continuous improvement and growth of the pharmacy.

Smarter Workflow

• Central Fill and Central Processing streamline prescription workflow.

• Average script volume is 500 per day per store.

What You'll Do

• Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications.
• Deliver exceptional patient care through counseling, education, and medication management.
• Build positive relationships with patients, healthcare providers, team members, and leadership.
• Mentor, coach, and develop pharmacy technicians while fostering accountability and teamwork.
• Lead pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacist in Charge.
• Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where permitted by state law.
• Ensure compliance with Meijer policies and all state and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Prioritize workflow while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives, wellness programs, and clinical services that improve community health.
• Support continuous improvement and contribute to the growth of the pharmacy.
• For Relief Pharmacist opportunities, support pharmacy locations within a dedicated footprint and established driving radius.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
• Current pharmacist license for the applicable state.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist, where required.
• Retail or community pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and patient counseling skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy systems, policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
