Job summary

AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, FL is seeking a Pharmacist to educate patients, counsel families, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective medication use. The role includes participation in stewardship, rounds, and care transitions, with opportunities to mentor staff and students.

Qualifications include a PharmD (or Doctorate) and a Florida pharmacist license, with hospital experience preferred.

Job Description

Weekend PRN with possibility for weekday shifts

Varied shift between 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift (differentials for shifts and weekends)

• Educate and counsel patients, families, and healthcare team members on safe and effective medication use.
• Provide safe, timely, and cost-effective medication therapy; actively participate in stewardship, surveillance, and restricted-use programs.
• Engage in direct patient care and interdisciplinary rounds, ensuring smooth transitions of care from admission through discharge and follow-up.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy technicians, interns, students, and residents; support team learning and development.
• Identify, report, and help resolve medication safety events, adverse drug reactions, and errors.
