Job summary

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a PRN Pharmacist for the Fairfax Ambulatory Care Center in Fairfax, VA. This role supports our nation’s military members and their families in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

The position offers a flexible PRN schedule with 1–2 shifts per month, no nights or high-pressure retail pace, and a modern, well-equipped clinic dedicated to patient safety and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree from an accredited college.
• Active, unrestricted license in any U.S. state.
• 2–3 years of pharmacy practice experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, verify, and dispense medications according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Review prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use.
• Monitor drug therapies for interactions, contraindications, and dosing accuracy; recommend adjustments when needed.
• Provide expert consultation to healthcare providers, patients, and families on medication selection, side effects, and best practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation, legal records, and compliance with all pharmacy regulations.
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy support staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to quality standards.
• Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, embracing new technologies and innovations that enhance patient care.
• Step in for the pharmacy manager as needed to ensure continuity of service.

Position Responsibilities

In This Role, You Will
