Job summary

Temple University Hospital is seeking a Pharmacist (Per Diem) to review orders, dispense medications, and ensure patient safety in a hospital setting. The role also includes inventory control and drug information support for the healthcare team.

The position requires a Pharmacy degree and PA licensure; PharmD is preferred. Experience in hospital pharmacy or APPE in a clinical setting is desirable, with BLS optional.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree from ACPE-accredited college.
• Pharmacist license in good standing for PA.
• Experience reviewing orders, dispensing, and ensuring safe medication use.

Responsibilities

• Review medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dose, frequency, and route.
• Dispense medications after verifying allergies, history and interactions.

PHARMACIST (Per Diem) - Temple University Hospital - ( 264827 )

The Pharmacist reviews all medication orders received from Physicians and Physician Extenders and dispenses medications after assuring that drug, dose, frequency, and route of administration are appropriate. Reviews patient allergies, past medical history, drug interactions and lab information for any potential clinical conflicts prior to dispensing medications. Responsible for inventory control. Provides drug information support for other healthcare team members. The Pharmacist oversees the work of all pharmacy students and technicians in the preparation of medications to ensure accuracy and safety in the medication use process. The Pharmacist collaborates with the Health Care Team on the planning for continuum of care and discharge planning.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education Required
• Doctorate Degree PharmD Preferred

Experience

• 1 year experience working in hospital, or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting Preferred

Licenses

• PA Pharmacist License Required
• Basic Life Support Preferred
