Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care, counsel patients, and oversee drug distribution. The role requires a California pharmacist license and hospital experience, with Pyxis proficiency and a focus on patient safety and education.

As a member of Universal Health Services in the Palmdale area, the Staff Pharmacist supports clinical pharmacy services, collaborates with care teams, and contributes to continuous improvement,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required.
• Current California Pharmacist license or eligibility.
• Minimum one year hospital pharmacy experience; 1–3 years preferred.
• Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care through drug distribution, patient counseling and teaching.
• Fill orders, monitor patient therapies, and provide drug information.
• Supervise staff in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy and support operations.

Position Description:

Staff Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling and teaching. Staff Pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patient’s drug therapies and provide drug information. Staff pharmacist supervises and directs supportive staff. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, a staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:

• Minimum one year previous experience required. One to three years hospital experience preferred. Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis reports.


• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required.


• Current Pharmacist licensure in the State of California.


• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
