Pharmacist – Per Diem

Description
Seeking a community‑based pharmacist to provide compassionate care to underserved communities on a Per Diem basis at Charles River Community Health.
- 4‑hour Saturday shifts 2–3 times per month (additional shifts available)
- Less scripts than most retail pharmacies, allowing more impactful patient interaction

The pharmacist will be responsible for operating the pharmacy, including purchasing, preparation, and distribution of drugs, clinical oversight and interaction with medical staff, and timely submission and reconciliation of drug claims.
Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
- Collaborate with administration, providers, and nursing staff to provide quality care
- Ensure billing documents and inventory control records are accurate
- Maintain compliance with professional policies, state and federal laws, and regulations
- Control distribution and usage of all medications, documenting controlled substances (Schedules II–V)
- Ensure 340B compliance when filling and checking medications
- Keep appropriate records per state, federal regulations, and PBM contracts
- Verify pharmacy claims for accuracy and resolve third‑party rejections
- Participate in QA activities within the department
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy or designee
Qualifications
- College degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral) in pharmacy from an ACPE‑accredited college of pharmacy
- Current, valid, unrestricted pharmacist license in Massachusetts
- 1–3 years of pharmacy experience, preferably in retail pharmacy services
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet organizational needs
- Ability and willingness to travel to the Charles River Community Health sites (Brighton and Waltham) as needed
- Detail‑oriented with exceptional people skills
- Preferred: ability to communicate with patients in both English and Spanish
