Job summary

Young At Heart Pharmacy in Indianapolis is seeking a motivated Pharmacist to join a dedicated team. You will fill medications for facilities, workplace clinics, independent patients, and mail delivery, while verifying orders for accuracy and ensuring quality of care.

Role follows a Monday–Friday daytime schedule (9:00 AM–6:00 PM) with on-call rotation and no heavy lifting required. Indiana licensure is essential to practice in this role.

Qualifications

• Indiana license required to practice as a pharmacist.
• Licensure must be active and in good standing with the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Assess the identity, strength and purity of medications.
• Review prescriptions to assure accuracy and necessary ingredients.
• Compound and dispense medications per prescriptions.
• Provide information on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage.
• Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent harmful interactions.
• Implement and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, labeling per policy and legal requirements.
• Open the pharmacy daily and participate in on-call rotation to support customers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Young At Heart Pharmacy, an Indianapolis-based pharmacy, backed by Custom Health, is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Pharmacist. As a vital part of our pharmacist team, you will be responsible for filling medications for facilities, workplace clinics, independent patients, and mail delivery patients. Pharmacists will be responsible for verifying all orders for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assess the identity, strength and purity of medications.
• Review prescriptions to assure accuracy, ascertain the needed ingredients, and evaluate their suitability.
• Compound and dispense medications following prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized medical practitioners.
• Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage.
• Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions.
• Plan, implement, and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.
• Open the pharmacy on a daily basis and be present per state board regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Active license from the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy

Working Conditions

• Normal working hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with additional time as required based on daily workloads.
• Pharmacists will also participate in an on-call rotation (every 6 weeks) to support customers and production schedules.

Physical Requirements

• This position does not require standing for extended periods of time (chairs are provided).
• Heavy lifting is not required, but the Pharmacist should be able to lift up to 10lbs.
• The ability to push wheeled carts containing a number of bins from one location to another.
• Operating a desktop keyboard and mouse.
• Communicating with employees, patients, caregivers, and physicians by phone, fax, and email in a courteous and professional manner.
