Chewy is hiring full-time Pharmacists to join our online neighborhood pharmacy in Pittston, PA. This role supports pet parents with medications prescribed by veterinarians, delivering quality care and service excellence in a team-focused environment.

You will interact with veterinarians, staff, and pet parents, supervise technicians, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy (RPh) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
  • Active pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania in good standing.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and work in various positions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and attention to detail; willingness to work varied schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and verify medication orders with precision and accuracy.
  • Review prescriber orders for dosing, contraindications, allergies and interactions.
  • Communicate with veterinarians, staff, and pet parents as needed.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and interns; provide training.
  • Maintain records to comply with federal/state laws and policies.
  • Uphold operational standards including performance metrics, safety, and compliance.
  • Process prescriptions using multiple computer tools.
  • Respond to calls from veterinarians and clients to deliver efficient care.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and adapt to changing tasks.

What You’ll Do


  • Interpret and verify medication orders with precision and accuracy.

  • Review prescriber medication orders for appropriate dosing, scheduling, contraindication, allergy, drug interaction, and/or incompatibility problems.

  • Communicate effectively with Veterinarians, their staff, and Pet Parents as needed.

  • Supervise and guide pharmacy technicians and interns. Provide ongoing training and mentor as needed.

  • Maintain accurate records to follow federal and state legal requirements and pharmacy policies.

  • Uphold operational standards, including performance metrics, safety, and compliance.

  • Perform additional duties and assignments as advised by management.

  • Use multiple computer tools and programs to process prescriptions.

  • Respond to incoming phone calls from veterinarians, technicians, and pet parents to provide efficient care to all patients.

  • Complete medication count audits

  • Collaborate with a team of pharmacists and adapt to changing work assignments.

  • Other duties as assigned


What You’ll Need


  • Bachelor\'s degree in pharmacy (RPh) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

  • Active pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania with license in good standing and other states and credentials as needed.

  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation and work in a variety of positions and locations such as sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and walking; for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong customer services and attention to detail

  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
