Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks an experienced Long-Term Care Pharmacist for a full-time 12-week contract with a leading closed-door pharmacy serving long-term care and post-acute facilities. You will review prescriptions for residents, ensure accuracy and safety, supervise technicians, and collaborate with facility staff to maintain regulatory compliance.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and expertise in medication therapy management.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in good standing.
• PharmD or equivalent pharmacy degree required.
• Long-term care, institutional, hospital, or closed-door pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medication therapy management and pharmacy regulations.
• Experience reviewing high-volume prescription orders preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications for residents in long-term care and skilled nursing facilities.
• Evaluate medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, drug interactions, allergies, and therapeutic effectiveness.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, consultant pharmacists, and facility staff regarding medication-related concerns.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and pharmacy regulations.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate patient and medication records.
• Support medication fulfillment, order verification, and quality assurance processes.
• Provide clinical guidance regarding drug therapy, dosing, and medication safety.
• Assist with controlled substance monitoring and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in pharmacy operational workflows to ensure timely medication delivery to partner facilities.

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Long-Term Care Pharmacist for a full-time contract opportunity with a leading closed-door pharmacy serving long-term care and post-acute care facilities. This position offers a consistent schedule, full-time hours, and the opportunity to support residents through accurate medication management and clinical pharmacy services.

Position Highlights

• Full-time, 40 hours per week


• 12-week contract assignment with potential for extension

Schedule

• Monday through Friday


• 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM


• Alternating weekend coverage required

Responsibilities
