Job summary

JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Pharmacist-Intern to assist the pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services for all age groups. You will help fill medication orders and ensure regulatory compliance under supervision.

This internship requires enrollment in an accredited school of pharmacy and active intern registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy; preferred experience as a registered technician, ACPE IV and CPR-BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Pharmacy experience as a registered technician (preferred).
• Active pharmacist-intern registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• ACPE IV Certification (preferred).
• CPR-Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services to patients of all ages.
• Enter patient and prescription information into the computer for patients and employees.
• Assist hospital personnel and patients with medication needs and provide excellent customer service by phone and in person.
• Return medications to stock in a timely manner.
• Ensure medication management processes meet regulatory requirements and assist with reporting.
• Support in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional pharmacy environment.
• Performs cashier functions and daily cashier reports as needed.

Description: The Pharmacist-Intern assists the pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services for all age groups. This job will assist in filling medication orders and prescriptions as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. Pharmacist-Intern will perform all technical and clinical tasks under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

Typical Duties:

• Assist the pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services to the patients and community.
• Enters patient information and prescription information into the computer forpatients/employees of all age groups.
• Assists hospital personnel and patients with medication needs and provides excellent customer service directly and via the telephone.
• Returns medications to stock in a timely manner.
• Assists in problem solving in matters relating to the pharmacy.
• Cooperates in maintaining a clean, orderly, safe, and professional environment.
• Provides technical support of drug distribution services for all inpatients and/or outpatients.
• Fills and stocks medications and supplies within the department as well as monitors and ensures adequate inventory is maintained in all areas.
• Ensures medication management processes meet all legal and regulatory requirements. Assists with reporting.
• Participates in performance improvement (PI) activities which improves patient care.
• Performs cashier functions and daily cashier reports as needed.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

• Enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Pharmacy experience as a registered technician

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

• Active pharmacist-intern registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

• ACPE IV Certification
• CPR-Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider
