Job summary

Baptist Health System in Meridian, MS is seeking a licensed pharmacist to provide age-specific pharmaceutical care and basic clinical services across assigned patient care areas.

You will participate in pharmacotherapeutic plan processes, oversee medication orders, supervise staff, prepare sterile products, and contribute to goals, QA and hospital programs.

Qualifications

• One year hospital pharmacy experience.
• Must obtain licensure within 120 days of hire.

Provides age-specific pharmaceutical care and basic clinical services for assigned patient care areas. Contributes to goals, programs, QA, PI and other activities for their unit/department/hospital. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Participates in pharmacotherapeutic plan processes.
• Manages own pharmacy practice effectively.
• Supervises and directs healthcare team members.
• Processes and prepares sterile products for dispensing.
• Contributes to goals, programs and report cards for unit/department/hospital.
• Participates actively on inter and intra-departmental committees.
• Maximizes safety and efficiency through appropriate use of automation.

Specifications

Experience

• One year of hospital pharmacy experience.

Education

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).

Training

• BLS and/or ACLS certification, advanced post-graduate training or equivalent clinical experience.

• Basic computer literacy and communication skills. Cognitive ability to interpret and understand written medication orders and reference materials; accuracy and attention to detail required.

Licensure

• Current, active, unrestricted pharmacy licensure for appropriate state or eligibility for licensure. Must acquire licensure within 120 days of hire date.
