Job description

As an Emergency Department Clinical Pharmacist, you will operate at the cutting edge of patient care within a 26-bed Emergency Department recognized as a Level III Trauma Center, which sees a substantial volume of ED visits annually.

Your contributions will be pivotal in advancing the landscape of emergency medicine pharmacy services.

12:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Position Overview

In your role as an Emergency Department Clinical Pharmacist, your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Delivery of direct pharmaceutical care with a focus on medication selection, precise dosing, therapeutic monitoring, and patient education.
  • Leadership in the formulation and execution of emergency department‑specific medication protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Active participation in emergency response scenarios, including but not limited to code blue situations, trauma responses, and stroke alerts.
  • Mentorship and instruction for pharmacy students and residents, enhancing the clinical education and practical skills within the pharmacy setting.
  • Collaborative engagement with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in urgent and emergent clinical situations.
  • Participation in medical staff and hospital‑wide committees to bolster patient safety and uphold standards of care excellence.
