Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacist In Charge for our new Massachusetts location to ensure adherence to pharmacy procedures and SOPs in line with company policies and state and federal regulations.

The role involves evaluating medication orders, ensuring safe supply, and collaborating with physicians and facility staff to optimize therapy, while supervising medication preparation and maintaining controlled substance records.

Qualifications

  • Licensed pharmacist in the state of MA.
  • 5–10 years of hospital and retail pharmacy experience.
  • Long Term Care experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with healthcare software.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administration.
  • Maintain dispensed medications are correctly supplied and labeled.
  • Make recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and client facilities staff, if necessary.
  • Maintain customers’ database including medical history, clinical data, laboratory data, etc.
  • Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
  • Communicate with facilities’ nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members regarding medication-related queries.
  • Supervise the preparation of medicines.
  • Maintain a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes.
  • Maintain proper security conditions for medications.
  • Perform on-call duties when required.

Job description

SpecialtyRx is a Long-Term Care pharmacy providing pharmaceutical services to long term care facilities and assisted living communities. SpecialtyRx takes pride in delivering personalized care and quality pharmacy services.

The Pharmacist In Charge will ensure adherence to pharmacy procedures and SOPs in accordance with company policies, state and federal regulations. The Pharmacist In Charge will ensure the regulations are correct and ensure the safe supply of medical products to client facilities, under the general supervision of the COO.
