Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. seeks a Pharmacist In Charge for its new Massachusetts location. The role ensures adherence to pharmacy procedures and SOPs, regulatory compliance, and safe supply of medications under the COO's supervision.

Responsibilities include evaluating orders, supervising medication preparation, and coordinating with nursing staff and physicians to optimize therapy for client facilities.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in MA with active license.
• 5–10 years of experience in hospital and retail pharmacy or related fields.
• Long Term Care experience preferred; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage, interactions and administration.
• Supervise dispensing, labeling, and preparation of medications.
• Make therapy recommendations to physicians and facilities staff when necessary.
• Maintain patient facility databases with medical history and related data.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries with the healthcare team.
• Maintain security and register of controlled substances; participate in on-call duties.

SpecialtyRx is a Long-Term Care pharmacy providing pharmaceutical services to long term care facilities and assisted living communities.

SpecialtyRx takes pride in delivering personalized care and quality pharmacy services.

The Pharmacist In Charge will ensure the adherence of the pharmacy procedures and SOPs. In accordance with company laws, state and federal regulations. The Pharmacist In Charge will ensure regulations are correct and safe supply of medical products to the client facilities, under the general supervision of the COO.

Pharmacist In Charge Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administration.
• Maintain dispense medications are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Make recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and client facilities staff, if necessary.
• Maintain customers’ database including but not limited to medical history, clinical, laboratory data, etc.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Communicate with facilities’ nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members regarding medication-related queries.
• Supervise the preparation of any medicines.
• Maintain a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes.
• Maintain proper security conditions for medications.
• Perform “on-call” duties when required.

Pharmacist In Charge Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in the State of MA.
• 5-10 years of experience in Hospital and Retail pharmacy or other medical fields.
• Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Computer skills.
• Framework/ECM software knowledge a plus.
