Pharmacist In Charge
Staff Pharmacist - Clinical / Hospital - 60% +/- online based
Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing expert pharmaceutical advice to healthcare professionals and patients, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical, communication, and patient-focused skills.

Responsibilities
  • Medication Dispensing
    • Dispense prescription medications accurately, ensuring compliance with dosage instructions and patient-specific requirements.
    • Verify medication orders for accuracy, potential drug interactions, and contraindications.
  • Patient Counseling
    • Provide expert pharmaceutical advice and counseling to patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and adherence.
    • Address patient queries and concerns regarding medications.
  • Collaboration
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to optimize patient medication therapy plans.
    • Communicate effectively within the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Medication Management
    • Manage medication inventories, ensuring proper storage, organization, and disposal of medications.
    • Monitor medication usage patterns and implement strategies for cost-effective medication management.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy regulations and participate in continuous education to stay informed.
  • Compounding and Specialized Services
    • Prepare and dispense compounded medications when required.
    • Provide specialized pharmaceutical services such as immunizations and medication therapy management.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Implement quality assurance measures to guarantee the accuracy and safety of medication dispensing.
    • Participate in regular audits and reviews to maintain high standards of pharmaceutical care.
  • Documentation
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of medication dispensing, patient counseling, and other relevant information.
    • Ensure proper documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
  • State licensure as a Pharmacist.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacist is advantageous.
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification is desirable.
