Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a HUB Centralized Services Pharmacist for a part-time position in Omaha. The role involves clinical review of prescriptions (drug utilization review, order entry accuracy) and collaboration with pharmacy technicians to triage patient calls at the Central Fill location near 114th and Dodge.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent with licensure in Nebraska or applicable jurisdiction.
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of Nebraska or jurisdiction of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and office equipment usage.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, dispense, and distribute medication with clinical monitoring for patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state dispensing laws and record maintenance.
  • Provide guidance and organize daily activities within the pharmacy team.

Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Pharmacist - HUB Centralized Services - Part-Time Position Highlights: Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for talented individuals to join us as a HUB Centralized Services Pharmacist. Nebraska Medicine HUB Pharmacy is a closed-door central fill pharmacy. Responsibilities of Pharmacists on the Centralized Service team include clinical review of prescriptions (drug utilization review, order entry accuracy checks) and working alongside pharmacy technicians while triaging/assisting patient phone calls. This position works at our Central Fill location for Nebraska Medicine and the office is located at approx. 114th and Dodge in Omaha, NE. (Also known as: Outpatient Pharmacist, Retail Pharmacist) We partner with our physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff to provide the best Serious Medicine and Extraordinary Care available in the region. Shift: 1st shift - Part Time - Benefits Eligible (0.5 FTE) Varied working hours, typically 8.5-hour shifts Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts varied between 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM Work One weekend every 12 weeks at our DOC location

Pharmacist - HUB Centralized Services Duties
  • Working with the healthcare team, prepare, dispense, and distribute medication and provide clinical monitoring and drug information in a manner, which ensures optimal patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations pertaining dispensing and maintenance of records.
  • Provide direction and assist with organization of daily activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Pharmacist - HUB Centralized Services Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required.
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Nebraska or jurisdiction in which pharmacy practice is conducted required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients required.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills and use of typical office equipment required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Outpatient hospital pharmacy experience or retail pharmacy experience preferred.
  • American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year one residency preferred.
  • Experience with hospital EMR and pharmacy applications preferred.
  • Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice preferred.
